How to best pruning your dahlias

  • Joyce and Malacy Byrne 125 Lavender Drive Ancaster Ontario (map)

Dahlias are stupid plants.  They grow too big for their own good.  To obtain healthy plants and optimum flowers it is vital to stop, debranch and debud your plants.  At first this is very difficult.  Many a member will tell you that they were reluctant to prune their plants for fear of damaging the plant.  Never fear!  Dahlias can be pruned very hard and hardly notice.  Come and see how it is done at the Byrne's garden.
